02 — THE SUMMIT

AN URGENT RESPONSE TO THE VISAYAS ENERGY CHALLENGE

The Visayas Energy Summit is a one-day, multi-stakeholder convening initiated by the Executive Board of the Philippine Energy Research and Policy Institute (PERPI) as an urgent institutional response to the pressing energy challenges in the Visayas. The region continues to face concerns regarding power supply adequacy and grid reliability amid growing electricity demand and the transition toward more sustainable energy systems.

The Summit brings together policymakers, energy sector leaders, researchers, and other relevant stakeholders through plenary sessions featuring invited speakers, policy discussions, and stakeholder booths showcasing energy initiatives, technologies, research outputs, and development opportunities — a platform for discussing energy challenges and a strategic step toward evidence-informed energy policy and development for the region.
